In this October 2022 car sales analysis article, we’ll look at the YoY and MoM change in sales figures of all A-segment hatchbacks in India. We’ll also include our observations based on the sales data and possible reasons behind a massive increase or drop in sales, where applicable. Lastly, the table with monthly sales of all A-segment hatchbacks for the last 6 months will give you an idea about the 6-month sales trend.

A-Segment Hatchback October 2022 Car Sales - YoY Change

Among mass volume cars from the A-segment hatchback category, Maruti’s Celerio was the biggest gainer, with a 115% YoY growth in October
The Hyundai Santro witnessed a 100% drop in sales in October 2022 compared to the same month last year
The Datsun Redi-Go’s sales dropped by a 100% in YoY comparison since the hatchback was discontinued
The Celerio saw the biggest YoY change in October 2022, with a gain from just 0 units in October 2021 to almost 5,400 cars sold in October 2022
Th skewed YoY gain of the Celerio is because it was about to get a generation change last year and had little to no demand as customers were waiting for the updated model
Renault Kwid saw a 26% decline in dispatch figures over that of October 2021

A-Segment Hatchback October 2022 Car Sales - MoM Change

There were no MoM gainers in the A-segment for the month of October
Renault Kwid which saw an 18% growth in MoM comparison for the month of September, saw a 5.35% decline in October MoM comparison
The Maruti S-Presso was the top loser, with a 22.28% decline in dispatches in October 2022
