The German giant Volkswagen has confirmed that the sedan VW Passat luxury sedan will receive a facelift later this year. The current Volkswagen Passat (B8) was launched in mid-2014 and has become over three years old now. Volkswagen is expecting the facelift model to make its way to India after the launch and sale starts in the European market. The automaker is planning to unveil a total of 22 new vehicles in 2018 internationally and the facelift version of Passat has also found a place in the list.
Dr. Herbert Diess, the CEO at Volkswagen has confirmed about the latest development According to Dr. Diess at Volkswagen’s Annual Media Conference this year, “The redesigned Passat is on the starting blocks for Europe. As usual, the Passat will also be available as Variant (Estate) and hybrid models.”
The 2019 facelift Passat feature a refreshed front-end, which is likely to get a redesigned front fascia drawn heavily on the Volkswagen Arteon. The car is also to feature a bigger air dam grille and radiator grille along with redesigned headlamps and daytime running lights in tandem with the chrome slats. The front bumper of the new sedan is expected to get a more chiseled and sleek look along with slightly tweaked tail lamps along with the restyled bumper.

Though there has been no official confirmation from the German automotive manufacturer about the exact dates for the new Passat launch, but as the reports indicate that the new Passat will be available for sale in Europe around the second half of 2018. In that case, the launch of the car in the Indian market will not be taking place before 2019. The current version of the VW Passat found its way to India in October last year.
