In this Q4 2022 hatchbacks quarterly cars sales analysis article, we’ll look at the car sales of hatchbacks for the previous year. We’ll also compare the YoY and QoQ change to find out which hatchbacks’ sales improved and which ones declined.

Q4 2022 - Hatchbacks Quarterly Car Sales Figures - YoY Change

More than half the hatchbacks in the Indian market saw a YoY decline in the Q4 of 2022 compared to Q4 of 2021.
In terms of sales, the B-segment hatchback is the best-selling segment in the Indian market.
Glanza was the best performing hatchback in Q4 YoY comparison, with a 191% rise in dispatches as compared to Q4 2021.
The Baleno can be put on the second spot for top performing car in the category, with around 63% YoY gains in Q4 2022.
The Honda Jazz was the biggest loser, with over 81% decline in sales. The Maruti Celerio was the second biggest loser with a 68% decline in dispatches in YoY comparison for Q4 2022, followed by the Maruti S-Presso with a 67% decline.
Datsun Redi-Go, Hyundai Santro and Volkswagen Polo are the hatchbacks that were discontinued in 2022.

Q4 2022 - Hatchbacks Quarterly Car Sales Figures - QoQ Change

Baleno claimed the top spot with over 55,000 dispatches in Q4 of 2022, but saw a 1.29% drop in dispatches
The only gainers were Swift, Glanza and Kwid, with Glanza as the top QoQ gainer in Q4 with 33% growth in dispatch figures
Swift was the second best top gainer in QoQ comparison, with a near 9% growth
Among the notable QoQ losers were the Jazz, Celerio and S-Presso, with their dispatches declining by 84% for Jazz and around 56% for Celerio and by 69% for the S-Presso
