In this Q4 2022 quarterly car sales analysis article, we’ll look at the sales figures of the 20 top-selling cars in India along with their YoY and QoQ sales comparison. 20 Top-Selling Cars Q4 2022 YoY Change
- The Mahindra Scorpio reported the best growth, with a gain of almost 148%, in terms of YoY comparison.
- The next best YoY performer in 2022 was Hyundai i20 with a 65% growth. The Kia Sonet was the third best gainer, with a YoY growth of 54% in 2022.
- Baleno was again the best-selling car in India, with just over 55,000 units sold in the fourth quarter of 2022. It is worth noting that only 40,000 units of the Maruti Nexa Baleno were sold in the first quarter of 2022.
- The top 10 best selling cars in Q4 of 2022 sold well over 30,000 units a month.
- Maruti’s WagonR was the top loser in YoY comparison analysis for the fourth quarter of 2022, with a 12% decline in dispatches compared to Q4 of 2021.
- 9 out of 20 models on the top 20 bestselling list in Q4 of 2022 are from Maruti Suzuki.
- Hyundai have 4, Tata have 3, while Mahindra and Kia each have 2 cars in the Q4 2022 YoY Top 20 performers list.
20 Top-Selling Cars QoQ Change - Q4 2022
- The Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara SUV was the top-performer in terms of QoQ comparison analysis for the year of 2022, with over 47% increase in dispatches as compared to November of 2022.
- The Ertiga was the second best performer in the QoQ comparison, with a 29% growth in sales in Q4 over Q3 in 2022.
- Most other cars in the top-selling cars’ list saw a QoQ decline in dispatch numbers.
- WagonR and Eeco from Maruti Suzuki topped the list of QoQ losers, with almost 29% decline in sales.
