    Renault Captur SUV India launch, more details

    Renault is bracing to officially launch its Captur SUV in the Indian car market. The French auto maker unveiled the Renault Captur premium crossover in India last month. While the Captur was supposed to have its official India launch in this month during the Diwali period, the launch got delayed and now the SUV is slated to come by mid-November, 2017. The new Renault Captur’s pre-launch bookings are already open, and the prospective buyers can pre-book the vehicle by downloading the Renault Captur app or visiting Renault India’s official website and paying an advance amount of Rs. 25,000. As per the latest reports, Renault has already started dispatching the Captur stocks to its dealerships across India.

    The India specific Renault Captur model is based on the same M0 platform that underpins the Duster SUV. The Captur looks very premium, stylish and contemporary. The crossover’s front fascia gets a V-shaped grille, highly stylized swept back projector headlights and LED DRLs. The vehicle’s side profile flaunts a bold character line, a raised appeal, and stylish alloy wheels. The rear design of the SUV includes attractively designed LED tail lights, classy satin finished skid plates, a sculpted and neat tail gate along with a bold rear bumper.

    As the Captur will be positioned as a premium compact SUV model in India above the Duster, it will offer abundant premium appeal in terms of exterior styling, cabin design as well as features. On the inside, the Renault Captur offers a well-designed and comfortable cabin. Features list of the vehicle includes a touchscreen infotainment system, automatic climate control, automatic rain sensing wipers, cornering lamps and much more. The dashboard comes in a nice design with fine quality plastic, while other materials in the cabin are also good quality.

    The Renault Captur crossover will be launched in India in both petrol and diesel versions. The SUV’s petrol avatar will get 1.5 litre petrol mill offering 104 bhp of power, while the diesel version will be powered by a 1.5 liter motor generating 108 bhp. The petrol model will come equipped with a 5 speed manual transmission, while the diesel engine will be paired to a 6 speed manual transmission.

    The Captur petrol will come with an ARAI rated fuel efficiency of 12kmpl, while the diesel avatar will offer a mileage of 17kmpl. Renault is also expected to introduce an AMT model of the SUV at a later date, while the range topping model is also likely to come with AWD system.

    In terms of safety equipments, the Renault Captur will come braced with features like dual front airbags, ABS with EBD, Brake Assist, Electronic Stability Control and Hill Start Assist among others.

    The Renault Captur premium SUV is expected to come with a price range of around Rs. 11 lakhs to Rs. 15 lakhs. Post its Indian launch next month, the Captur will be locking its horns with models like the Hyundai Creta, Tata Hexa and Mahindra XUV 500.
