It is a known fact now, that the SUV craze has reached such a height globally that even the mega-luxury car brand like Rolls-Royce has got busy building an SUV. Not only Rolls-Royce but other high-end iconic car brands such as Lamborghini and Ferrari have set to roll out their respective SUVs. Nevertheless, Rolls-Royce is more special and has a completely different class and position in the history of car building in the entire world. So, an SUV from this British bespoke car company requires special mention. Hence, the Rolls-Royce Cullinan will be a very special model in the global SUV market. Currently the Cullinan SUV is busy testing the roads and is getting spotted by the spy cameras.

Recently, a test prototype model of the upcoming Rolls-Royce Cullinan was spied while it was busy testing the roads. This time around, not only the camouflaged exterior of the SUV was caught by the spying shutterbug, but also the interior. The spy pictures of the Cullinan’s cabin have been doing rounds on the internet. We all know that Rolls-Royce likes to make clear that it is different and classier than any other automaker/brand in the world and likes to call its models differently (more related to the functionality of the vehicle). For instance, what we generally know as a convertible, RR calls a drop-top model. Similarly the Cullinan SUV is not called an SUV by the company and is called as all-terrain vehicle instead.

The all-new Rolls-Royce Cullinan shares a lot design cues with the new generation Phantom VIII. The SUV is also based on the same aluminium spaceframe platform or Luxury Architecture as that of the all new Phantom. RR is expected to conduct the world premiere of the Cullinan in the second half of 2018.

Coming back to the latest spy shots of the Rolls-Royce Cullinan, the test prototype has been caught with usual heavy camouflage in place to hide its exterior styling. However, this prototype seems to be riding on differently designed alloy wheels. The rear design of the Cullinan beneath the camouflage also appears to be of an actual SUV. The production ready tail lights are still not in place, although the rear bumper seems to be close to what the production model will get and it gets integrated dual exhaust tips.

The spied interior of the Cullinan SUV shows that the cabin is still getting developed and all its equipments seem to be simply for testing the vehicle. There’s also a lot of camouflage on the inside. The RR SUV’s steering is borrowed from BMW, meaning it is not ready yet, while the instrument cluster is similar to that of the all new Phantom. The rest of the cabin styling seems to be very contemporary and entirely new.

The Cullinan will offer high ground clearance and AWD system more great all-terrain performance. It will get a revised 6.75L V12 engine that is found under the hood of the Phantom VIII.
