In this September 2023 car sales analysis article, we’ll look at the YoY and MoM change in sales figures of all MPVs in India. Where applicable, we’ll also include our observations based on the sales data and possible reasons behind a massive increase or drop in sales. MPV Segment September 2023 Car Sales - YoY Change
- Top Gainers:
- Maruti Suzuki Ertiga (C1-segment): The Maruti Suzuki Ertiga saw significant YoY growth of 45.48%. This indicates that it continues to be a popular choice among consumers in the C1 segment.
- Maruti Nexa XL6 (C2-segment): The Maruti Nexa XL6 experienced a notable YoY growth of 47.37%, indicating increased demand for this model in the C2 segment.
- Toyota Innova Crysta/HyCross (D1-segment): The Toyota Innova Crysta/HyCross showed a substantial YoY growth of 22.22%. This suggests that this model remains a preferred option in the D1 segment.
- Top Losers:
- Kia Carens (C2-segment): The Kia Carens faced a YoY decline of 17.26%, indicating reduced sales compared to the previous year.
- Renault Triber (B2-segment): The Renault Triber experienced a significant YoY decline of 46.81%, suggesting a decrease in demand for this model in the B2 segment.
- Kia Carnival (D2-segment) and Toyota Vellfire (D2-segment): Both the Kia Carnival and Toyota Vellfire recorded no sales in September 2023, resulting in a YoY decline of 100%. This may be attributed to factors such as supply constraints or changes in the lineup.

- Citroen C3 Aircross (C1-segment): The Citroen C3 Aircross had an impressive MoM growth of 684.31%, with sales increasing from 51 to 400. This indicates growing popularity in the C1 segment.
- Mahindra Marazzo (C2-segment): The Mahindra Marazzo saw a significant MoM growth of 206.38%, with sales increasing from 47 to 144. This may be attributed to consumer preferences for vehicles in the C2 segment.
- Maruti Suzuki Ertiga (C1-segment): The Maruti Suzuki Ertiga recorded a MoM growth of 9.85%, indicating a continued preference for this model in the C1 segment.
- Maruti Nexa XL6 (C2-segment): The Maruti Nexa XL6 had a healthy MoM growth of 7.82%, showcasing sustained interest in this model.

- Maruti Suzuki Invicto (D1-segment): The Maruti Suzuki Invicto experienced a significant MoM decline of 33.96%, with sales dropping from 589 to 389. This suggests a decrease in demand for this model.
- Maruti Suzuki Eeco (A-segment): The Maruti Suzuki Eeco faced a MoM decline of 6.00%, indicating reduced sales compared to the previous month.
- Kia Carens (C2-segment): The Kia Carens saw a modest MoM decline of 0.67%, suggesting some fluctuations in demand for this model.
