    Skoda Karoq SUV Details Revealed

    The Skoda Karoq has been long expected to arrive in India, but that didn’t happen yet. It was scheduled to launch here in April 2020, which got delayed for obvious reasons due to the pandemic crisis. However, Skoda Auto India still plans to launch the Karoq soon. Although a new launch date is not known, it is expected to happen soon when the pandemic impacts ease on the country. Meanwhile, new details on the India-spec Skoda Karoq have come to light recently.

    Skoda India will offer the Karoq SUV in 6 exterior colour options, namely - Black, White, Silver, Brown, Grey and Blue. The Karoq bookings page on Skoda’s official website revealed this information.

    Skoda Auto India’s director Zac Hollis had earlier confirmed that the Karoq will initially launch in a single top variant. This fully-loaded variant will offer a host of premium features such as a virtual cockpit, widescreen infotainment system, SkodaConnect suite of applications like Apple CarPlay and Android Auto support, LED ambient lighting, automatic climate control, electrically-adjustable driver's seat, panoramic sunroof and much more. 

    Safety equipment that is certainly making way in the India-spec Karoq include 9 airbags along with ABS, electronic stability control, adaptive cruise control, parking assist and many more other features.

    Under the hood, the Skoda Karoq will be equipped with a BS6 1.5-litre petrol engine, which is capable of generating a maximum power output of around 150PS along with 250Nm of peak torque. This engine will come with a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission and no manual transmission choice at least initially.

    The Karoq is the mid-sized 5-seater sibling of the Kodiq full-sized flagship SUV from the Czech carmaker. The Karoq and Kodiaq share the same design language and many styling elements. The Karoq gets the same patent butterfly mesh grille, swept-back styled LED headlights, LED DRLs, LED taillights and alloy wheels among others.

    Skoda Karoq premium SUV is expected to cost between Rs. 20 and 25 lakh (ex-showroom).
