    Spied: Tata H5X SUV Undergoing High-Altitude Testing

    One of the most talked about upcoming cars is the Tata Motors’ H5X SUV that has been news since the concept was introduced at the Auto Expo 2018. The concept grabbed the attention of every auto enthusiast and became the center of attraction at the company's booth during the auto event. Tata Motors soon announced the production version based on the H5X concept and since then the flagship SUV by Tata Motors has been on test in India for quite some time now. Recently, the test mule of the upcoming H5X SUV has been spied testing in the country on high altitudes.

    Based on the Tata Motors’ Impact 2.0 design language, the new H5X looks highly appealing in terms of design. According to the designer at Tata Motors, the production version will not be very far from the concept model, making it more prominent for the SUV lovers across the world. The Tata H5X shares the platform with the luxurious Land Rover Discovery Sport. According to the reports, the new Tata H5X will have a total kerb weight of 1650 kg and it will have the identical wheelbase of 2741mm as the Land Rover Discovery Sport.

    Under the hood, the upcoming Tata H5X will come powered by a 2.0-litre Multijet II engine that has been sourced from Fiat while the transmission duties will be taken care of with the help of a ZF sourced nine-speed automatic gearbox. Apart from this, the automaker is also expected to offer an all-wheel-drive system as standard. Other details about the technical specification of the new H5X are still unknown.

    At the interior, the all-new Tata H5X will offer premiumness and high quality features. The Tata H5X is likely to be launched in India sometime next year and will rival against the likes of the Jeep Compass along with the new Hyundai Creta and Mahindra XUV500. The SUV is expected to be priced somewhere around Rs 12.5 lakh – Rs 13.0 lakh (ex-showroom, India).
