Tata Sierra EV, Updated Punch EV And Avinya EV Confirmed For 2026 | V3Cars
Tata Motors have achieved a major milestone in India’s electric vehicle journey, with cumulative EV sales crossing the 2.5 lakh mark. Tata Motors currently account for roughly two-thirds of all passenger electric vehicles sold in India. While announcing the latest sales milestone, Tata Motors confirmed the launch of 3 new electric vehicles by 2026, including the much-anticipated Sierra EV, an updated Punch EV and the first model under the Avinya sub-brand.
Tata Sierra EV Launch Confirmed For 2026
The electric Sierra will be one of Tata’s most important launches in the coming year. Expected to arrive in 2026, the Sierra EV will sit in the C-SUV segment and is likely to share its underpinnings with the Harrier EV. Tata has indicated that the Sierra.ev will be based on the acti.ev+ platform, which supports more advanced battery and drivetrain configurations.

Design-wise, the Sierra EV is expected to closely follow the upcoming Sierra ICE, with EV-specific changes such as a closed-off front fascia and aerodynamic tweaks. Reports suggest that Tata could offer both rear-wheel-drive and all-wheel-drive options, positioning the Sierra EV as a more premium and capable electric SUV than the Nexon EV and Curvv EV.
Updated Tata Punch EV To Follow
Tata have also confirmed an updated version of the Punch EV, which is expected to launch in the first half of 2026. This update is likely to mirror the changes planned for the Punch ICE facelift, including minor exterior revisions, feature additions and possible cabin updates.
The Punch EV will continue to play a crucial role in Tata’s EV strategy as the brand’s most affordable electric SUV. With growing competition in the entry-level EV space, the update should help Tata keep the Punch EV fresh and competitive.
Avinya Brand To Mark Tata’s Entry Into Premium EV Space

Perhaps the most significant announcement is Tata’s confirmation that the Avinya brand will debut in India by the end of 2026. Avinya will serve as Tata’s premium electric sub-brand and will be based on the company’s Gen 3 born-electric skateboard platform.
This new architecture is designed to support larger, more advanced electric vehicles and will allow Tata to move into higher price segments than its current EV portfolio. The first Avinya model will sit above existing Tata EVs and is expected to focus on space, range, technology and a more premium ownership experience.
With strong sales momentum and a clear product roadmap, Tata Motors is setting the stage for its next phase of EV growth, with the Sierra.ev, Punch.ev update and Avinya EV expected to play a central role in shaping its electric future in India.
