    The new Nissan X-Trail hybrid SUV – All you need to know

In keeping with its growth strategy in the Indian domestic car market, Nissan is planning a slew of new model launches, one of which is the Nissan X-Trail SUV.

In keeping with its growth strategy in the Indian domestic car market, Nissan is planning a slew of new model launches, one of which is the Nissan X-Trail SUV.

    The Nissan X-Trail SUV is readying up for its re-introduction in India after failing to make a mark the first time. However, this time around there are very good chances for the new generation Nissan X-Trail SUV to succeed in India. The X-Trail will come in a fully hybrid version this time, and given the increasing popularity of luxury SUVs as well as the hybrid cars in India, this hybrid SUV’s chances of success in India are also high.

    The X-Trail Hybrid SUV is likely to hit the Indian market early in 2017. Here is all that you need to know about the upcoming Japanese SUV before it actually arrives in our market:

    Exterior

    The new-gen X-Trail is sleek, sophisticated and stylish and comes flaunting its maker’s 'V-Motion' radiator grille that are flanked by sleek headlights. The aggressively styled SUV also gets C-shaped tail lights apart from a number of striking styling elements. It is based on the company’s CMF-C platform. It is a large SUV which measures 4640 mm in length, 1820 mm in width and 1715 mm in height. The new-gen model also comes riding on a larger wheelbase measuring 2705 mm which automatically translates into larger cabin space. The SUV has a good ground clearance of 210 mm which can adequately handle the bad road conditions of India.

    Interior

    The new X-Trail hybrid SUV will offer more premium interiors and better materials than its predecessor; it will also be a 7-seater SUV compared against its predecessor’s 5-seater configuration. It will offer premium leather seat covers, classy piano black dashboard. It will be loaded with high-end equipments including Advanced drive assist display, around view monitor offering 360-degree view, steering mounted controls among many others. Safety features include Vehicle Dynamic Control, Active Trace Control, Active Engine Braking, Hill Start Assist and much more.

    Powertrain

    The India-bound new-gen Nissan X-Trail hybrid is likely to get powered by a 2.0L petrol mill that is paired with an electric motor to deliver a combined power of 179 Bhp and f 207 Nm of torque. The SUV will be equipped with an X-Tronic CVT gearbox that will come in both 2WD and All Wheel Drive system options.

    Price

    The Nissan X-Trail hybrid is expected to come to India via CBU route, and it will be the first fully hybrid SUV in the country. It is likely to be priced in the range of Rs. 30 lakhs to Rs. 35 lakhs.

    Competitors

    Post its Indian launch, the new Nissan X-trail will be rivaling the likes of Hyundai Santa Fe, Honda CR-V and Mistubishi Pajero Sport.
