The Q3 will lead Audi's new product rollout and be followed by the A5 sedan in the first half of 2027 and the Q9 flagship SUV in the second half. Update (August 26, 2026): We have updated this story with new information about the Audi Q3’s expected launch timeline and India-spec features. The new Q3 could launch as early as October 2026, while digital Matrix LED headlights, OLED tail lights, illuminated
Audi will launch the new Q3 between October and December 2026, during the festive season. The launch could take place as early as October. Audi are also expected to offer the Q3 in both standard SUV and Sportback body styles, although it remains to be seen if both versions will arrive in India simultaneously.
The current Audi Q3 costs between Rs. 43.81 lakh and Rs. 53.17 lakh, while the Q3 Sportback costs Rs. 54.22 lakh. We expect the new-generation models to cost between Rs. 50 lakh and Rs. 60 lakh (ex-showroom). Their key rivals will include the BMW X1 and Mercedes-Benz GLA.

Globally, the new Q3 is available with petrol, diesel and plug-in hybrid powertrain options. However, the India-spec model is expected to continue with Audi’s familiar 2L turbo petrol engine (204PS) paired with a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission and quattro all-wheel drive.
The new engine's 14PS advantage is modest, while peak torque is unchanged. The standard all-wheel-drive system will continue to be a key differentiator for the Q3 against rivals such as the BMW X1 and Mercedes-Benz GLA, which are offered with front-wheel drive in India.

The third-generation Q3 gets a wider, more upright grille, slimmer headlights and a more sharply defined profile. The India-spec Q3 will get digital Matrix LED headlights, OLED tail lights and illuminated Audi rings. Inside, Audi have moved the transmission selector to the steering column, freeing up more storage space on the centre console.
Audi updated the global Q3 for the 2027 model year in July 2026. Since the India launch will follow this update, Audi could bring the latest specification here. The complete India-specific equipment list is not confirmed, but other expected feature highlights include:

Audi offer the new Q3 globally in SUV and Sportback body styles. Since Audi India sell both versions of the outgoing model, both new body styles are likely to reach India. Their exact launch order remains unconfirmed.
The Q3 is the first of 3 new Audi models confirmed for India by the second half of 2027. The Q3 is Audi's only confirmed new-model launch for India in 2026, making it the immediate priority.
In 2027, the A5 will replace the ageing A4, while the Q9 will finally give Audi a direct rival to the BMW X7 and Mercedes-Benz GLS.
Reportedly, Audi plan to locally assemble all 3 models at the Skoda Auto Volkswagen India plant in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar. Audi aim to raise their market share from about 8 percent to 15 - 16 percent within 3 years according to statements given to the media. The company plans to expand its showroom network from 29 outlets to 40 by the end of 2027.
