The new Innova Crysta is based on Toyota’s TNGA platform. While Toyota have retained the design traits of the Innova nameplate, the carmaker has given the new Innova Hycross a rugged SUV-like appearance with an upright bonnet, boxy wheel arches and side body cladding.

At the front, the new Innova Hycross gets a signature Toyota grille with chrome surrounds, flanked by slim reflector-based LED headlights. The lower bumper houses LED fog lights, LED DRLs and gets a brushed chrome garnish.

Around the side, the new Innova Hycross gets a sharper design than the Innova Crysta with a few cuts and creases. The changes make the new Innova less slab-sided and more like an SUV. Additionally, the new Innova Hycross also offers 18-inch machine-cut alloy wheels, wheel arch cladding and ‘Hybrid’ badges on the front doors. At the rear, the new Innova gets split LED tail lights, a tapered rear windshield with a roof-mounted spoiler, a beefy skid plate and an electric tailgate. Toyota Innova Hycross

The new Innova comes with a revised cabin with several new features and technology. The dashboard gets a multilayer layout with a generous use of soft-touch materials. A freestanding 10-inch touchscreen infotainment system takes the pride of place at the centre of the dashboard. Additionally, the new Innova offers features like an electric parking brake, auto brake hold, dual-zone climate control, rear AC vents, panoramic sunroof, ambient lighting and a semi-digital instrument cluster.

Like the Innova Crysta, Toyota offer the Innova Hycross with both 7- and 8-seater options. The 7-seater option gets captain seats with an extendable leg support. Furthermore, it gets individual armrest for the captain seats and a centre storage bin with twin cup holders. The longer wheelbase and a flat floor thanks to the deletion of the centre tunnel for the rear-wheel driveshaft should free up more space inside the cabin of the new Innova Hycross.
