    Toyota Organizes Safety Experiential Drive Camp In Gurugram

    Toyota Kirloskar Motors organized the “Toyota Etios Safety Experiential Drive” to showcase the safety features and performance of the Etios series. The event has been organized in Gurugram and is open for customers over a period of 9 days. Both the existing and prospective customers can test the safety competencies of the Etios series by steering across a curated track, under the supervision of expert drivers. This second leg of the event offers surplus activities for the customers in order to create awareness on safety features, safety mind set, pedestrian safety, road safety, driver safety, vehicle safety.

    Commenting on the Event, Akitoshi Takemura, Senior Vice President, Toyota Kirloskar Motor Pvt. Ltd said, “As Safety leaders in the industry it is our primary mission to ensure safest cars with safest drivers in the country and significantly reduce the traffic accidents with our safety initiatives. Concern over safety has slowly emerged as one of the crucial driving factor determining the purchase decision for the traditional value conscious Indian customers today. Customers initially would prioritize music system over airbags. The consistent efforts by dealers and our extensive safety related customer campaigns about safety measures have proven to be helpful.”

    As the event focuses to create awareness among the drivers and passengers towards safety, it has been designed to offer an exciting drive experience to participants that allow them to drive on an all-terrain track with speed bump, sand patch, wet patch, and rumbler.

    According to reports, Around 68 per cent of the total number of people died while driving was in the age group of 18-45 years, which is the most productive age. The data also reveals that the total number of road deaths was nearly 1.51 lakh in 2016 as compared to 1.46 lakh in 2015. Hence, an array of safety features such as SRS Dual Airbags (through Virtual Reality), Headrest for all 5 seats, Skid Control, Child Seat and 3 point seat belt for all 5 seats has been brought through the drive.

    The first leg of this event was organized in Bangalore in August this year where the Etios was presented with the coveted 4 Stars in Global NCAP Crash Test adult occupant safety for the year 2016. Toyota Etios has also won JD Power award for three years in a row now. The car comes loaded with advanced safety features such as ABS, EBD, SRS Airbags, Middle Rear Head Rest, Middle Seat three point seatbelt, Front pre tensioner force limiter seat belts and Collapsible Steering.
