The new Toyota Prius is set to take the market by a storm- not only is it eco-friendly – it is also a combination of features that defy the conventional definition of an ‘eco’ car. It has a sporty design ensuring a powerful and enjoyable drive. The new Prius is said to be the pioneer of Hybrid Technology, built on Toyota New Generation Architecture (TNGA). TNGA means low-stance designs resulting in better suspension, stability and easy handling. The latest in Toyota’s Hybrid technology along with TNGA gives the best of both petrol and electric motors.

The new Prius comes with a 1.8 l petrol engine. Its superior torque makes the vehicle a pleasure to drive. Prius would be used to showcase the advanced hybrid technology and its DNA, Toyota intends to take it forward in the future. The new Prius is priced at Rs. 38, 96,040 (Ex-showroom New Delhi) and would be available only in one grade, the Z8. Mileage would be about 26.27kmpl with extremely low emissions. Toyota launched Prius in India in 2010 and globally, it has almost 4 million satisfied customers. Besides creating awareness, it was Toyota’s aim to reiterate their commitment to introduce the latest in hybrid technology to India. It was with this aim that the new Prius 2017 was launched in India.

Toyota Motor Corporation recently announced the cumulative global hybrid vehicle sales of 10.05 million. Mr. Akito Tachibana, Managing Director, Toyota Kirloskar Motor mentioned about how they consider India to be a crucial market and they believe that ‘there is more to the market beyond just the numbers’. They aim at addressing ‘critical issues associated with energy, environment and safety’. It is their belief that environment-friendly vehicles will help in a major way to deal with such issues. One of the most important goals of the organization is to implement environmental measures and it is on this basis that Toyota today has more than 10 million happy customers driving Toyota hybrids. Toyota Hybrid cars are low on emissions since they are powered by top notch and eco-friendly Hybrid Synergy Drive reflecting how seriously they take their responsibility of building a sustainable future.
