The current calendar year of 2017 has witnessed the launch of innumerable new cars in the Indian car market. As the year approaches towards its end, many more new model launches are expected to take place. Here is a look at some of the car models which are likely to hit the Indian car market before year 2017 bids farewell.

    Take a look:

    Renault Captur

The French automaker is ready to expand its popularity beyond the Duster and Kwid nameplates by launching its globally successful Captur. Expected to hit the market within the month of October, the Captur is based on the Duster’s platform. The Captur will be a premium offering from the house of Renault and will be positioned above the Duster, with which it will also share its powertrains.

    Ford EcoSport 2017

The refreshed EcoSport subcompact SUV has been highly awaited since its unveiling at 2017 LA Auto Show. The facelift model is likely to launch in India by the end of this year. The updated EcoSport will sport a new front fascia, added new features, new Dragon petrol engines and more. The 1.0L EcoBoost engine and the 1.5L TDCi diesel engines are likely to be retained.

    Tata Nexon AMT

The much anticipated Nexon subcompact SUV recently launched with a starting tag of Rs. 5.85 lakhs (ex-showroom, New Delhi). The Nexon comes in both petrol and diesel avatars, but gets only a manual transmission. Tata Motors is expected to launch the AMT version of the Nexon soon.

    Maruti Celerio X

The Celerio compact hatch is about to get its sporty crossover version soon. It will be christened as the Celerio X it will be sharing the same 998 cc, 3 cylinder K10B petrol engine with the regular Celerio hatchback model. Upon launch, the hatchback-cross will be fighting in the small pseudo crossover segment in India against the likes of the Mahindra KUV100.

    Honda WR-V CVT

The WR-V crossover has been a great success in the Indian car market. The highly stylized urban crossover launched earlier this year in both petrol and diesel versions. Now, Honda Cars India is expected to launch the CVT version of the popular WR-V in India soon. It gets powered by a 1.2 litre i-VTEC petrol engine and the 1.5-litre i-DTEC diesel mill.

    Honda Civic

The Civic garnered high popularity when it was first launched in India, but back then the Indian market was not as matured as it is now. Thus, the highly acclaimed premium sedan failed to generate sustainable sales for the company in this country and got pulled off from the Indian market. Now, the Honda Civic is ready to play its second innings in India and will be coming in its new avatar in the country’s premium D-segment. The new all improved Civic will offer great impressive tech gizmos, an array of premium equipments and oodles of style and sophistication to win over the car buyers of India. The new Civic is expected to come powered by a 1.6 litre i-DTEC diesel motor and is likely to hit the Indian market by the end of this year.
