Upcoming Cars In May 2026 - City Facelift, MG Majestor, Sierra EV And More | V3Cars
April 2026 saw a steady stream of launches across segments, and May is shaping up to carry that momentum forward with a mix of facelifts, EVs and premium SUVs. From the updated Honda City to new electric offerings like the Tata Sierra EV, the coming weeks should bring something for both mainstream and niche buyers.
1. Honda City And City Hybrid Facelift

The first major launch expected this month is the 2026 update of the City from Honda Cars India, likely around May 22. This will be the second facelift for the 5th generation sedan, and while exterior changes are expected to remain subtle with tweaks to the headlights, bumpers and wheels, the bigger updates should come inside. Honda could introduce features like ventilated front seats, a larger touchscreen and a fully digital driver’s display to keep the City competitive. The engine options are likely to remain unchanged, including the 1.5L normal petrol and strong hybrid powertrain.
2. MG Majestor

In the SUV space, MG Motor India are set to reveal the prices of the MG Majestor, which will replace the Gloster in their lineup. Expected to arrive by mid-May, the Majestor will target buyers looking at rugged, full-size SUVs like the Toyota Fortuner. It offers a strong mix of luxury and off-road capability, including features like dual large screens, ventilated and massage seats, and a 4WD system with locking differentials and multiple terrain modes. Power comes from a 2L twin-turbo diesel engine paired with an automatic transmission.
3. Tata Sierra EV

Electric SUVs will also take centre stage this month, led by the upcoming Tata Sierra EV from Tata Motors. Expected to arrive in the third week of May, the Sierra EV will sit below the Harrier EV and offer both rear-wheel-drive and all-wheel-drive options. It is expected to feature a modern cabin with multiple screens, a panoramic sunroof and premium comfort features. This launch will further strengthen Tata’s position in the growing EV space.
4. Toyota Urban Cruiser Ebella

Another important EV launch expected towards the end of the month is the Toyota Urban Cruiser Ebella from Toyota Kirloskar Motor. Based on the Maruti e Vitara, the Ebella is expected to offer 2 battery options with a claimed range of over 500km for the larger pack. With features like a large touchscreen, ventilated seats and flexible rear seating, it should appeal to buyers looking for a practical family EV with strong range figures.
5. Mini Countryman C

Rounding off the list is the upcoming Mini Countryman C from Mini India. This new variant is expected to be locally assembled, which should make it more accessible than the existing performance-focused versions. It will offer a feature-rich cabin and a smaller turbo-petrol engine, making it a more practical entry point into the Mini lineup.
6. Skoda Kodiaq RS

Among premium launches, Skoda Auto India are likely to introduce the Skoda Kodiaq RS, marking the debut of their RS performance badge on an SUV in India. The Kodiaq RS will offer a more aggressive design and a significantly more powerful version of the 2L turbo-petrol engine with all-wheel drive, making it a compelling option for buyers looking for a performance-oriented SUV.
7. BMW M440i Convertible

Luxury buyers can also look forward to the arrival of the BMW M440i Convertible from BMW India. Based on the 4 Series, this convertible combines strong performance with an open-top driving experience, powered by a 3L turbo-petrol engine and featuring an electrically operated soft-top roof.
