    Updated Ford EcoSport to launch in India in October

    American auto major, Ford is all braced up to launch the updated EcoSport mini SUV in the Indian car market during the ongoing festive season. As per the latest reports, the Ford EcoSport facelift will be launched in the country in this month. The new 2017 Ford EcoSport will be featuring good amount of changes on its exterior design as well as on its interior design. The subcompact SUV will also be getting endowed with some updated and new features, while the highlight will be the introduction of the new Dragon range of petrol engines.

As per the latest reports, the Ford EcoSport facelift will be launched in the country in this month. The new 2017 Ford EcoSport will be featuring good amount of changes on its exterior design as well as on its interior design. The subcompact SUV will also be getting endowed with some updated and new features, while the highlight will be the introduction of the new Dragon range of petrol engines.

    When the exterior design updates are concerned, the new updated 2017 Ford EcoSport will be flaunting a new front fascia featuring a new hexagonal grille that can be seen on the new family of Ford cars, sharper and bolder headlight design and redesigned front bumper. The side as well as the rear profiles of the vehicle will be mostly retained with some minor changes like new alloy wheel and a new cover for the tailgate mounted spare wheel. The tailgate mounted spare wheel has been dropped on the international model, but will be remaining intact in India, as the Indian urban SUV buyers appreciate the EcoSport’s butch appeal and proper SUV stance.

    On the inside, the EcoSport facelift will be boasting of a redesigned cabin. However, the basic interior layout and the dashboard design will be retained from the ongoing model. The updated model gets a redesigned centre console along with a new touchscreen infotainment system. Moreover, the refreshed vehicle’s interior has been also endowed with a gets new steering wheel as well as new instrument cluster. There are also body- colored inserts to offer a trendy and fresh appeal on the entire cabin.

     

    The 2017 EcoSport facelift will also be packing in new features including a touchscreen infotainment system with Ford's SYNC 3 interface and Apple CarPlay and Android Auto support. Other expected added features include cruise control, automatic climate control, reverse camera and speed limiter function and more.

    However, the most important upgrade in the 2017 Ford EcoSport is the introduction of the new Dragon series petrol engines. Ford is introducing the new engines from the new Dragon family of petrol engines to India under the hood of the EcoSport, followed by which these petrol engines will also be duty on other Ford cars in India. The petrol EcoSport version will be equipped with a 1.5L Dragon three-cylinder petrol engine generating 120 bhp, while a 1.2L is also expected on the base petrol model of the subcompact SUV.

    The diesel avatar of the updated EcoSport will be getting the 1.5L motor that delivers 100 bhp of power. The urban SUV is also expected to retain the much acclaimed 1L Ecoboost petrol mill.

    The Ford EcoSport facelift will be thus, better equipped to fight it out in the highly competitive sub-4 meter SUV segment of India which is ruled by the segment leader Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza. The EcoSport’s other tough competitors include the Mahindra TUV 300 and the recently launched Tata Nexon.
