Vinfast VF6 And VF7 Score 5-Star Bharat NCAP Safety Rating | V3Cars
Vinfast’s electric SUVs, the VF6 and VF7 have both achieved a 5-star safety rating under the Bharat NCAP crash test programme, reinforcing the brand’s focus on safety for the Indian market. The ratings apply across all variants of both electric SUVs and cover adult occupant protection (AOP) as well as child occupant protection (COP).
Interestingly, Bharat NCAP conducted the crash tests for both models in November 2025, with the results being officially released only now.
Vinfast VF7: Bharat NCAP Results Explained

The Vinfast VF7 scored 28.54 points out of 32 in adult occupant protection, which earned it a 5-star Adult Occupant Protection (AOP) rating. In the frontal offset deformable barrier test, the protection offered to the driver’s chest area was rated weak, while protection for the driver and front passenger’s lower legs ranged from adequate to marginal. However, the VF7 scored a perfect 16 points in the side movable barrier test and was rated ‘OK’ in the side pole impact test.

For Child Occupant Protection (COP), the VF7 scored 42.25 out of 49 points, comfortably qualifying for a 5-star COP rating. The electric SUV performed strongly in the dynamic test and achieved full marks for the child restraint system (CRS) installation, giving it marginally higher COP score than direct rivals such as the Harrier EV and XEV 9e.
Vinfast VF6: Bharat NCAP Results Explained

The Vinfast VF6 also secured a 5-star rating for both AOP and COP. It scored 27.13 out of 32 points in AOP. Similar to the VF7, the VF6 showed weak protection for the driver’s chest in the frontal crash test, while protection for the knees was rated marginal to adequate. The VF6, too, achieved a full score in the side impact test and received an ‘OK’ rating in the side pole impact assessment.

In the child occupant protection tests, the VF6 scored 44.91 out of 49 points. It delivered full marks in the dynamic and CRS installation tests, with both child dummied placed in rearward-facing child seats using ISOFIC anchorages.
Standard Safety Equipment Of VF6 and VF7
Both the VF6 and VF7 come equipped with 7 airbags, electronic stability control (ESC), ISOFIX child seat mounts and 3-point seatbelts for all occupants as standard. The safety ratings are valid across all variants of both electric SUVs.
