German car major Volkswagen is preparing an all-new premium coupe which it has christened as the Arteon. Now, the company has gone ahead and released the official sketch of the upcoming new Volkswagen Arteon in order to generate enough buzz around the new product well ahead of its scheduled world premiere. The new premium four-door coupe model from the house of Volkswagen is all set to make its debut at the upcoming 2017 Geneva Motor Show, which will take place in the month of March.

The new upcoming Volkswagen Arteon premium saloon post its market launch will be placed above the Volkswagen Passat. The all-new Arteon will also replace the outgoing CC saloon which is at present being offered for sale in the global car markets and will be refreshing Volkswagen global portfolio. By the looks of the brand new Volkswagen Arteon sedan as revealed in the teaser sketch released by the German car major, the model also seems to be quite apt to come as a new flagship sedan in the company’s product portfolio.

As explained by the German auto maker, the new Volkswagen Arteon’s name comes from the amalgamation of per the two words – ‘Art’ and ‘Eon’. While the ‘Art’ in the car’s name is clearly suggested by smooth and pleasant design of the car meant to impress the onlookers with its visual appeal, ‘eon’ might be referring to the car’s premium class and appeal similar to the name Phideon which the car maker offers for sale in the Chinese car market.

The German car manufacturing giant is also expected to commence a new enhanced brand image with the launch of the new upcoming Arteon. The new premium saloon is expected to be coming with very attractive and sophisticated styling along with remarkable design elements that would exude its top-notch quality and class. The Volkswagen Arteon will be coming with a sleek and highly stylish front fascia that will flaunt an aggressively design grille which will have its slats reaching up to the striking 3D LED headlights. The smoothly slopping roofline of the car offers it a coupe like visual appeal. The sedan’s doors will be flaunting sleek looking frameless windows. It will be offering a top-hinged boot lid to allow easy access. The rear styling of the car has been made more attractive with highly stylized tail lights that come with a wraparound styling along with bright LED lights.

While speaking on the design language of the upcoming Volkswagen Arteon, the cars’s exterior designer Tobias Sühlmann told the media that Arteon provokes enthusiasm at first sight through its highly expressive styling, after which the car surprises with its very practical qualities. This styling and functionality combination is very distinctive.

Other than the exterior design details, no other details regarding the features or powertrains on the Volkswagen Arteon sedan are available at the moment. All these details will certainly be revealed by the auto maker during the model’s unveiling at the 2017 Geneva Motor Show.
