Volkswagen Virtus Completes 3 Years In India – Leads C-Sedan Sales | V3Cars
Volkswagen India are celebrating a significant milestone for their popular C-segment sedan, the Virtus. The Virtus has successfully completed 3 years of sales in India, firmly cementing its position as a key player in its segment. This anniversary comes as Virtus continues to show strong performance in the market.

Volkswagen Virtus – A Consistent Performer In C-Sedan Segment
Since its launch 3 years ago, the Virtus has made a name for itself with its European design and performance, helping it build a loyal fanbase among those who enjoy driving.
Currently, the Virtus commands a 32% share of the C-sedan segment in 2025. It holds the distinction of being the number 1 selling C-segment sedan in India in 2024 and it currently leads sales in 2025 as well. Volkswagen have noted that Virtus sales have grown by a healthy 7% compared to the same period last year.

The 2025 VW Virtus is offered with 2 engine options – a 1L turbo petrol and a 1.5L turbo petrol. The former produces 115PS of power and 178Nm of torque. It is available with a 6-speed manual and 6-speed torque converter (TC) automatic transmission. The 1.5L turbo petrol engine produces 150PS of power and 250Nm of torque and VW offer it with either a 6-speed manual or a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission (DCT).
VW Virtus Facelift Incoming?
While the Virtus has achieved remarkable success, the Indian automotive market is constantly changing, with a growing preference for SUVs. To keep the Virtus exciting and competitive, Volkswagen India are reportedly working on a facelift for the sedan.
