Volvo C40 Recharge Launched At An Introductory Price Of Rs. 61.25 Lakh | V3Cars

Volvo Cars India have launched the new C40 Recharge electric coupe SUV in the country at an introductory price of Rs. 61.25 lakh (ex-showroom). Read on to know more about the features and specifications of the new Volvo C40 Recharge.

Volvo C40 Recharge Launched In India

The new Volvo C40 Recharge is now on sale at an introductory price of Rs. 61.25 lakh for the first 100 customers. The C40 Recharge commands a premium of Rs. 4.35 lakh over its SUV counterpart, the XC40 Recharge. Bookings for the new C40 Recharge will commence on Volvo India’s website on September 5 and the bookings amount is set at Rs. 1 lakh.

Both the XC40 Recharge and the newly launched C40 Recharge share the same battery pack and electric motors but the latter offers better range thanks to its slippery bodystyle. Like the XC40 Recharge, the C40 Recharge is locally assembled at the company's manufacturing plant in Hosakote, near Bengaluru.

On the design front, the front profile of the C40 Recharge looks identical to the XC40 Recharge. It gets sleek LED headlights with ‘Thor’s Hammer’ LED DRLs that flank the enclosed front grille. The biggest changes lie on the side and rear profile, with the tapering roofline being the highlight. The roofline of the C40 Recharge sharply drops off after the C-pillar and seamlessly merges with the boot lid. At the rear, it offers sleek LED tail lights with a vertical extension while the boot lid gets an integrated spoiler.

On the inside, the C40 Recharge features the same dashboard layout as the XC40 Recharge. It packs a large, vertically-stacked touchscreen infotainment system at the centre of the dashboard. The infotainment system offers wireless Apple CarPlay and built-in Google Maps. The C40 Recharge also gets vertical AC vents for the front row with metallic open and close switches. Other features of the C40 Recharge include a digital driver’s display with Google Maps projection, powered driver and co-driver seats, 13-speaker Harman Kardon sound system, advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS), 360-degree parking camera, and a fixed panoramic sunroof.

Volvo C40 Recharge Powertrain Details

The C40 Recharge shares its battery and electric motors with the XC40 Recharge. It packs a 78kWh battery pack that channels power to 2 electric motors mounted on each axle. The electric motors produce a combined power output of 408PS and 660Nm of torque. The C40 Recharge offers a WLTP-certified range of up to 530km on a single charge whereas the locally-tested ICAT range stands at 683km. With the help of an ultrafast DC charger, the C40 Recharge can juice up its battery from 0-80% in just 27 minutes. The company will supply an 11kW AC fast charger with the C40 Recharge free of charge.

Apart from the lower introductory price, the first 100 customers of the C40 Recharge also get other benefits. These include 3 year/unlimited km comprehensive warranty, 3 year service and maintenance package, 3 year roadside assistance, 5 year subscription for Google Maps and a complimentary 11kW AC charger. Furthermore, all C40 Recharge customers get an 8 year/1,60,000km warranty for the battery and electric motors.
