Swedish luxury automaker Volvo has silently introduced the S90 Momentum, the second variant to its flagship sedan range in the country. The newly launched variant is priced at Rs 51.90 lakh (ex-showroom, India) and has been positioned below the top-spec S90 D4 Inscription trim that comes at a price tag of Rs 58.54 lakh (ex-showroom, India) that is around Rs 7 lakh more than the Momentum.
Under the hood, the Volvo S90 Momentum gets the same engine option as the Inscription variant. It’s the 2.0-litre D4 diesel engine producing 190 hp and 400 Nm of torque and comes mated to an eight-speed automatic transmission. The top speed comes down from 223 kmph to 210 kmph. However, the Momentum variant misses out on the air suspension system, driver modes and paddle shifters compared to Inscription variant.
In terms of features, the S90 offers a front grille finished in a piano black shade, circular exhaust tips and 18-inch alloy wheels. Compared to the top- spec Inscription model, the Momentum variant misses out on diamond-cut finish alloy wheels and rather comes with a simple finish. Other than this, it gets foldable rear seats, rear sun-shades, Bowers and Wilkins Sound system, hands-free tailgate opening, 360-degree rear parking camera and heads-up display while missing out on the front seat ventilation and massage functions found in the top- spec model.
Other features include a nine-inch touchscreen infotainment system, digital gauges, auto parking system, front and rear parking sensors and a standard rear camera. The safety features offered as standard are six airbags, ABS with EBD, brake assist, ISOFIX child seat mounts and adaptive cruise control with pilot assist.
The luxurious sedan takes against the likes of the Mercedes-Benz E Class, BMW 3 Series, Audi A4 and the Jaguar XF in the segment. Stay tuned to V3cars.com for further updates from Volvo India.
