Bringing this year’s International Yoga Day theme ‘Yoga for One Earth, One Health’ to action, Honda India Foundation (HIF), the CSR arm of Honda Group Companies operating in India, organized a community-centric celebration at the Honda Samajik Vikas Kendra (HSVK) in Naurangpur, Manesar, Gurgaon (Haryana). As part of the celebration, over 200 participants from nearby villages joined for guided yoga sessions that encouraged harmony between individual well-being and collective health.

The event was graced by Mr. Vinay Dhingra and Mr. Katsuyuki Ozawa, Trustees, Honda India Foundation and Mr. Ajit Yadav, District President, Bharatiya Janata Party, Gurugram along with the Sarpanches of nearby villages. The esteemed guests engaged with the community, highlighting the importance of adopting Yoga as a way of life.

The session was designed to be inclusive and accessible, helping the participants integrate simple breathing and movement techniques into their daily lives. The celebration is a part of HIF’s continued commitment to foster preventive healthcare among rural communities. Through the HSVK Yoga Centre, the initiative has already reached and positively influenced over 20,000 individuals - a reflection of consistent community engagement and the growing relevance of yoga in our daily lifestyle.

In addition to the session at HSVK, International Yoga Day was also observed across all HMSI plants in India, where employees participated in guided Yoga sessions focussed on mindfulness, flexibility and overall wellness. The initiative aimed to encourage employees to take a conscious pause and focus on their mental and physical health. In today’s high-pressure work environment, such initiatives serve as a reminder on the importance of self-care in sustaining both individual and organizational wellbeing. Over 900 employees took part across locations, reflecting growing awareness around the need for balance and wellness in the workplace.

With a continued focus on skill development, road safety, environment protection, education, rural development & health care, Honda India Foundation aims to expand further such initiatives.
