With a starting price of Rs 6.50 lakh (ex-showroom), the new compact SUV by Hyundai is cheaper than Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza, Ford EcoSport, and Mahindra XUV300.
Available with 3 years or unlimited kms of warranty and roadside assistance for an equal number of years with the 2019 Hyundai Venue, the company is claiming the lowest cost of maintenance with a doorstep service facility for the new compact SUV.
Hyundai Venue is available in E, S, SX, and SX (O) variants and 7 exterior colors including 3 new colors – Denim Blue, Lava Orange, and Deep Forest and 3 Dual Tone options. The SUV takes against the likes of Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza, Tata Nexon, Ford EcoSport and Mahindra XUV300. In terms of powertrain, the newly launched Hyundai Venue is the first Hyundai product with in-house developed 7-Speed advanced Dual Clutch Transmission (DCT) technology in addition to the 6 MT and 5 MT transmissions. The Venue comes powered with the debut of Kappa 1.0 Turbo GDi Petrol Engine along with well- proven 1.2 l Kappa Petrol and 1.4 l Diesel Engine. While the 1.0-liter Kappa T-GDI petrol engine makes 118 bhp and 172 Nm of torque, the 1.2-liter petrol engine produces 81 bhp and 115 Nm of torque and the 1.4-liter diesel engine churns out 88 bhp and 220 Nm of torque. The 1.4-liter diesel engine comes mated to a 6-speed manual gearbox.
Talking about the Tata Nexon, the compact SUV by Tata can be had with either a 1.2-liter turbocharged petrol engine or a 1.5-liter turbocharged diesel engine. The petrol engine dishes out 108 bhp of max power and 170 Nm of peak torque. The diesel engine also makes 108 bhp of max power, but peak torque stands at 260 Nm. Both these engines can be had with a 6-speed manual transmission and a 6-speed AMT.
