We also compare its driving experience with the outgoing Baleno to understand what has changed with this facelift. The Baleno’s new 1.2-litre Z-Series 3-cylinder petrol engine produces 83PS of maximum power at 5700rpm and 112.4Nm of peak torque at 4500rpm. While the power and torque figures are slightly lower than the outgoing Baleno, the new engine offers around 1.5kmpl higher claimed fuel efficiency. The engine is paired with both a 5-speed manual and AMT transmission.
