MG launched the Hector back in 2019 and it received a minor update in 2020. The carmaker are now ready to bring a major update for the SUV with a design overhaul and new features. The most impressive feature of the Hector facelift is going to be the inclusion of advanced driving assistance system (ADAS) features.

MG Hector Facelift Expected Specs

In terms of engine options, the new Hector is likely to come with the same 1.5L turbo petrol and 2.0L turbo diesel powertrains as the current model. The 1.5L turbo petrol is likely to retain its manual and CVT-automatic options. Currently, the MG Hector with the 2.0L diesel engine only gets a 6-speed manual transmission. We do not expect MG to offer the Hector facelift with a diesel-automatic option any time soon. However, its rivals, such as the Tata Harrier, Mahindra XUV700 and Jeep Compass, offer the choice of a diesel-automatic powertrain.

MG Hector is a D1-segment SUV and its facelift will continue to rival other SUVs in the class like the Mahindra XUV700, Hyundai Alcazar, Toyota Innova Hycross and Tata Harrier.

MG Hector Facelift Launch Timeline

MG Motor India are likely to launch the Hector facelift at the 2023 Auto Expo. The brand may also host its unveiling on January 5. Additionally, MG are also likely to reveal the small urban electric quadricycle for the Indian market.
