10 Features The 2026 Tata Sierra Gets Over Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara | V3Cars

Priced from Rs. 10.77 lakh to Rs. 19.72 lakh (ex-showroom), the Maruti Nexa Grand Vitara can be considered as an alternative to the newly-launched 2026 Sierra. However, the Grand Vitara is getting a bit long in the tooth, especially after the launch of the more feature-packed and marginally more affordable Victoris from Maruti’s own stable.

10 Features 2026 Tata Sierra Gets Over Maruti Grand Vitara

Nonetheless, the Grand Vitara and Sierra 2026 offer multiple overlapping features such as panoramic sunroof, ventilated seats, digital instrumentation, and connected car tech. However, the Sierra brings several enhancements that the Grand Vitara does not match. Here’s a detailed look at the features the Sierra 2026 offers over the Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara.

1. Level-2 ADAS

Tata Sierra Level-2 ADAS

Launched in 2022, the Grand Vitara does not offer ADAS in any of its variants. However, the Maruti Suzuki Victoris, which shares its platform and powertrain options with the Grand Vitara, does offer Level-2 ADAS. And so does the Sierra. If you feel you need these driving aids for the road, you might want to consider the new Sierra or Maruti’s own Victoris over the Grand Vitara.

2. Triple-Screen Layout

Tata Sierra Triple-Screen Layout

The 2026 Sierra’s top Accomplished Plus variant offers a triple-screen layout consisting of three 12.3-inch displays that serve as the digital instrument cluster, central touchscreen infotainment system, and front passenger entertainment display. In comparison, the Grand Vitara uses a traditional dual-screen setup comprising a 7-inch digital driver’s display and a 9-inch touchscreen infotainment system. The Sierra’s triple-screen layout gives the cabin a more immersive, high-tech feel and enhances the overall visual appeal of the SUV.

3.  19-inch Alloy Wheels

The top Accomplished and Accomplished Plus variants of the Sierra ride on 19-inch alloy wheels, which is the largest in the segment. The larger wheels give the Sierra a planted stance and a premium visual upgrade. The Maruti Grand Vitara, on the other hand, only offers 17-inch wheels.

4. Flush Door Handles

The 2026 Sierra features flush door handles that sit seamless inside the bodywork and pop out when needed. This gives the Tata SUV a cleaner silhouette and enhances aerodynamics. In comparison, the Grand Vitara offers traditional door handles.

5. Powered Tailgate With Gesture Control

The Sierra offers a gesture-controlled electronic tailgate, while the Grand Vitara only offers an electronic tailgate without gesture control. This feature allows hands-free operation by waving your foot under the bumper.

6. Manually-Extendable Thigh Support

For additional comfort, especially on log journeys, the Sierra offers manually extendable thigh support for the front seats. This is a thoughtful ergonomic touch missing in the Grand Vitara. However, both the Sierra and Grand Vitara offer 8-way powered driver’s seat in their top variants. The Sierra takes it a step further with an 8-way powered front passenger seat in the top Accomplished Plus variant.

7. Extendable Sun Visor

The Sierra provides extendable sun visors, making it easier to block sunlight coming through the sides. This is a small but genuinely useful feature. The sun visors in the Maruti SUV do not extend.

8. Front Fog Lamps With Cornering Function

The 2026 Sierra offers front fog lamps with a cornering function, which help illuminate the direction you’re turning in at low speeds. The Grand Vitara, on the other hand, does not offer fog lamps in any of its variants.

9. 12-Speaker JBL Black Sound System

The top variants of the Sierra offer a 12-speaker JBL Black premium sound system, offering a fuller, more immersive audio experience. The 12-speaker sound system also comprises a soundbar integrated into the dashboard. The Grand Vitara, meanwhile, comes with an 8-speaker Clarion sound system in its top variants. While both are premium setups, the Sierra simply packs more hardware.

10. Dual-Zone Automatic Climate Control

The 2026 Sierra offers dual-zone automatic climate control from the Pure Plus variant onwards. The Grand Vitara, on the other hand, offers single-zone auto AC as standard.

Honourable Mentions

While these features may not drastically alter usability, they enhance the Sierra’s sense of luxury, practicality, and modernity:

1. Largest-in-Segment Panoramic Sunroof

Both SUVs offer a panoramic sunroof, but the Sierra’s unit is the largest in the segment, enhancing cabin airiness and visibility.

2. 4-Spoke Steering Wheel With Illuminated Tata Logo

A small but premium touch that enhances nighttime cabin appeal.

3. AR HUD

While both the Tata and Maruti SUVs offer a head-up display in their top variants, the Sierra takes it a step further with augmented reality features such as turn-by-turn navigation, lane augmentation when lane keep assist is activated, etc.

4. Hidden Rear Wiper

The Sierra conceals its rear wiper beneath the spoiler, creating a cleaner tailgate design.

5. Single-Piece LED DRLs and Connected LED Taillamps (First in Segment)

The Sierra features a bold lighting signature with single-piece DRLs and fully connected taillamps, adding strong visual identity.

6. Sport Mode

While both SUVs offer terrain modes, the Sierra additionally features a dedicated Sport mode button.

7. Umbrella Holder in Front Door Pockets

A practical, everyday-use feature missing in the Grand Vitara.
