Kia Deliver 200 Units Of EV6 Electric SUV – Pending Orders Likely To Be Fulfilled By 2022 End | V3Cars

Kia India have delivered 200 units of the EV6 electric crossover SUV so far. While only 100 units of the EV6 were allocated for the Indian market initially, Kia received over 355 bookings for the electric SUV ahead of its launch. Kia have now increased their EV6 allocation for India and delivered 200 units so far. The South Korean carmaker aims to fulfil deliveries of the pending bookings by the end of 2022.

Kia India also revealed that bookings for the EV6 grew further since its launch. Kia opened bookings for the EV6 in May, launched the electric crossover in June and commenced deliveries in October 2022.

Kia EV6 Platform And Electric Motor Specifications

The Kia EV6 sits on Hyundai-Kia’s e-GMP global modular platform, which also underpins the India-bound Hyundai Ioniq 5. The India-spec Kia EV6 comes with a 77.4kWh battery pack and 2 drivetrain options — rear-wheel-drive and all-wheel-drive. The Kia EV6 offers an ARAI-certified range of 708km on a single charge. The rear-wheel-drive EV6 produces 229PS of power and 350Nm of torque whereas the all-wheel-drive version puts out 325PS of power and 605Nm of torque.

On the occasion of completing 200 deliveries of the EV6, Mr. Myung-sik Sohn, Chief Sales Officer, Kia India, said, “The EV6 is considered to be amongst the most sophisticated products by Kia ever and is a demonstration of our technological prowess and capabilities. At the launch of EV6, amid the very positive response received, we had promised our customers to bring in more units of the EV6, over and above the initially allotted 100 units for 2022. Going forward, our focus will be on completing the deliveries of all the existing and new bookings at the earliest. The EV6 made electric mobility a fun and joyful experience for our customers, and I am confident that the EV6 will be a common sight on Indian roads in the upcoming days.”

Meanwhile, Kia India have set up 150kWh fast chargers at 15 dealerships in 12 cities. Kia also set up India’s fastest EV charging station with a capacity of 240kWh at their Kochi dealership in August 2022. The carmaker plans to further expand its EV charging infrastructure across the country to enable faster adoption of EVs in the country.
