    2017 Ford EcoSport brochure leaks out prior to official Indian launch

    The 2017 Ford EcoSport facelift is one of the most anticipated car launches in India this year, and the model is ready to hit the car market of the country on 9th of this month. The updated EcoSport compact SUV has already been revealed online, and just ahead of its official Indian launch, its brochure has been leaked out.

    The leaked brochure of the new refreshed Ford EcoSport has revealed all the important details of the compact SUV including colour options, dimensions, safety features and fuel economy. Earlier, the updated EcoSport’s variant-wise details have been also splashed over the internet. Thus, the revamped SUV model’s specs and trim wise features are already known.

    According to the leaked brochure, the refreshed EcoSport will be offered in 7 attractive exterior body colour options namely – Race Red, Lightning Blue, Diamond White, Absolute Black, Smoke Grey, Moondust Silver and Canyon Ridge. When dimensions are concerned, the sub-4 meter compact SUV is 3998 mm long, 1765 mm wide and 1647 mm tall and comes on a wheelbase measuring 2519 mm. It gets a good ground clearance of 200 mm. The subcompact SUV offers a good cargo area of 352 litres that can be expanded to 1178 litres with its rear seats folded flat.

     

    The new refreshed Ford EcoSport comes with comprehensive updates with cosmetic changes both on the outside and inside, added new features and techs and also a new petrol engine choice. The cosmetic updates include a new front grille with gloss black, silver accents or chrome trims depending on the variants. There are quadbeam halogen reflector headlights as standard across all trims, excepting the range topping variant that boasts of projector head lamps with LED DRLs. The lower variants get 15 inch steel wheels, while the higher variants get 16 inch steel rims and 16 inch alloy wheels. The range topping Titanium+ trim comes with 17 inch alloy wheels.

     

    On the inside, the EcoSport facelift gets new upholstery, 8 inch floating touchscreen infotainment system for the top trim and 6.5 inch touchscreen unit for lower variants, Ford SYNC 3 with voice control, steering mounted controls, pushbutton start/stop system, Smart Entry, activate seat belt reminder, speed alert, rear-view camera and much more.

    In terms of safety measures, the updated 2017 Ecosport offers dual airbags, ABS and EBD as standard across the range. Other safety equipments include EBA, ESC, hill launch assist, traction control, rear parking sensors, ISOFIX child seat mounts, cruise control, side and curtain airbags and many more depending on variants.

     

    The refreshed Ford EcoSport will be available in both petrol and diesel versions. Ford has introduced a newly developed 1.5-litre Dragon petrol engine under the EcoSport facelift in India. This new petrol mill generates 121 Bhp of power and 150 Nm of torque and will be paired to a 5-speed manual or a 6 speed automatic transmission option. The diesel version will continue to get powered by the 1.5 litre diesel motor that delivers 99 Bhp and 205 Nm and is mated to a 5 speed manual transmission.

    The EcoSport facelift is expected to have a price range of around Rs. 7.3 to 11.5 lakhs, and will rival the Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza, Tata Nexon and Mahindra TUV300.
