Isuzu has launched the BS6 version of the mu-X SUV. It comes almost a year after the BS4 model was discontinued back in January 2020. As expected, the only change on the 2021 mu-X comes under the hood as it continues to get the same features and exterior design. For the new engine, the 2021 mu-X has received a price hike of around Rs 6 lakh as it is priced at Rs 33.23 lakh and Rs 35.19 lakh (ex-showroom Tamil Nadu) for 4X2 and 4X4 variants, respectively.

The 2021 mu-X is powered by a 1.9-litre diesel engine that makes 163PS and 360Nm, 14PS and 20Nm less than the 3.0-litre diesel engine offered earlier. The 1.9-litre engine comes paired with a 6-speed automatic transmission with both 2WD and 4WD options.
As mentioned above, Isuzu has made no changes to the mu-X’ cabin and feature list. It continues to get features like Bi-LED projector headlamps, LED DRLs, 6-way electrically adjustable driver’s seat, cruise control, push-button start, auto AC with dedicated AC vents for rear occupants, tilt-adjustable steering and a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system (without Apple CarPlay and Android Auto).
Safety features on offer include 6 airbags, ABS with EBD, electronic stability control, traction control, hill launch assist, ISOFIX child seat anchors, rear parking sensors and a parking camera.
With the update, Isuzu has also introduced a new exterior colour for the mu-X in the form of Nautilus Blue. Other colours are carried as such. The list includes Red Spinal Mica, Silky White Pearl, Galena Grey, Black Mica and Silver Metallic.
The 2021 mu-X will continue to take on likes of the Toyota Fortuner, Ford Endeavour and the Mahindra Alturas G4.
