Kia has launched the updated Sonet at a starting price of Rs 6.79 lakh (ex-showroom India). It gets additional automatic transmission variants, paddle shifters, new voice commands and a revised list of features. Kia has also introduced the new brand logo across its model lineup in India save for the Carnival MPV.

Replacing the HTK+ automatic variants available earlier, Kia has now introduced automatic transmission options on the HTX variant with both petrol (120PS 1.0-litre turbo) and diesel engines (115PS 1.5-litre diesel). Additional features introduced on the HTX variant include electronic stability control, hill launch assist, vehicle stability management, brake assist, 16-inch alloy wheels, rear door sunshade curtain, traction modes (automatic variants only), drive Modes (automatic variants only), and paddle Shifters (automatic variants only).
The HTX+ variant, on the other hand, has received additional features like electronic stability control, hill launch assist, vehicle stability management, brake assist, new voice commands, rear door sunshade curtain and additional voice control commands. The HTX+ variant is available only with a 1.0-litre turbo petrol engine paired with 6-speed iMT and a 1.5-litre diesel engine mated to a 6-speed MT.
Kia has also introduced some new features on the top-spec GTX+ variant. It now gets paddle shifters (automatic variants only), rear sunshade curtains and new voice control commands for the infotainment system. Engines on offer include a 1.0-litre turbo petrol engine and a 1.5-litre diesel engine. While the petrol engine is offered with a 6-speed iMT and 7-speed DCT, the diesel engine is available with a 6-speed MT and a 6-speed AT.
The HTK+, however, has received the most comprehensive feature update of all. It now gets an electric Sunroof (turbo petrol only), remote engine start/stop (turbo petrol/diesel), keyless entry, chrome door handles (turbo-petrol/diesel) and push-button start (turbo-petrol/diesel). The HTK+ variant is available with three engine options: 1.2-litre naturally aspirated petrol (83PS/115Nm) with 5-speed MT, 1.0-litre turbo petrol (120PS/172Nm) with 6-speed iMT and the 1.5-litre diesel engine (100PS/240Nm) with a 6-speed MT.
Other features on the Sonet continue to remain as such including upto 6 airbags, auto LED headlamps, connected car tech, front and rear parking sensors, a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, auto AC, ventilated front seats, wireless mobile charging, Bose sound system and air purifier.
With the new addition of new features and variants, Kia has also increased the prices of the Sonet by up to Rs 30,000. Here is a detailed price list.
The updated Sonet continues to take on likes of the Hyundai Venue, Maruti Vitara Brezza, Toyota Urban Cruiser, Mahindra XUV300, Tata Nexon, Renault Kiger and the Nissan Magnite.
