Volkswagen T-ROC is again available for buyers in India in a single fully-loaded variant priced at Rs 21.35 lakh (ex-showroom India). That makes it Rs 1.36 lakh more expensive than the 2020 model.
Save for the price, everything on the T-ROC remains unchanged. It is powered by the same 1.5-litre TSI Evo petrol engine with active cylinder technology. It makes 150PS of maximum power and 250Nm of peak torque, and is paired to a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission.
On the features front, it gets a panoramic sunroof, auto LED headlamps, rain-sensing wipers, dual-zone AC, auto-dimming IRVM, heated front seats, height-adjustable front seats, parking camera, a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster and an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
Safety features on offer include six airbags, front and rear parking sensors, ISOFIX child seat anchors, hill hold control, traction control, electronic stability control, electronic parking brake, front and rear fog lamps and a tyre pressure monitoring system.
Deliveries of the 2021 T-ROC are expected to go underway from April 2021. The T-ROC competes with the Jeep Compass in the premium C-segment SUV space.
Other SUVs that VW plans to launch this year include the Tiguan and Taigun. While the Tiguan is a premium SUV that will be priced around Rs 30 lakh, the Taigun being a compact SUV is likely to retail from Rs 10 lakh to Rs 16 lakh.
