2022 Audi A8 L Facelift Teased – India Launch Soon | V3Cars

Audi India have teased the A8 L facelift on their social media handles, hinting at an imminent launch. Audi updated their flagship sedan in global markets in February this year. The 2022 A8 L facelift gets redesigned front and rear profiles, along with enhanced features.

On the outside, Audi have redesigned the single-frame grille with broader borders and new chrome elements. The air intakes are stacked vertically and some minor additions have been done to the bumpers as well. The matrix LED headlights now boast different LED patterns, making them look more futuristic than before. Exclusive to the Chinese market, Audi also have the A8 L Horch, which offers a longer wheelbase and better luxury-oriented features.

On the inside, the A8 L facelift is similar to the outgoing model. The dashboard gets retractable AC vents. The centre of the dashboard boasts twin screens – one for navigation and media and the other for the climate control and drive modes. Other changes include new seat upholstery and rear entertainment screens. 

Like every other Volkswagen, Skoda, Audi and Porsche model, the A8 L will be offered as a petrol-only model in the Indian market. The refreshed A8 L is expected to pack the same powertrain as before. The outgoing Audi A8 comes with a 3.0L turbo V6 petrol engine which produces 340PS of power and 500Nm of torque. It comes mated to an 8-speed automatic transmission and 4-wheel-drive.

Audi India are likely to launch the A8 L facelift later this year. It will go up against the BMW 7-Series and Mercedes-Benz S-Class. Meanwhile, BMW are all set to reveal the new-gen 7-Series globally along with the i7 all-electric luxury sedan. Closer to home, Mercedes-Benz India recently launched the locally-assembled Maybach S580 and the imported Maybach S680.
