At the unveiling ceremony of the XUV400, Mahindra officials spoke highly about the class leading dimensions of its upcoming electric SUV. The XUV400 is not only larger than the Nexon EV but it’s also bigger than the Kona Electric in every dimension. The XUV400 measures 20mm longer, 21mm wider and 64mm taller than the Kona Electric. Both the XUV400 and Kona Electric share the same wheelbase, at 2600mm. However, the Kona Electric gets bigger alloy wheels than the XUV400.

In terms of performance, the XUV400 offers 150PS of power, making it 14PS more powerful than the Kona Electric. However, the Kona Electric offers 395Nm of torque, which is 85Nm more than what the XUV400 offers. Furthermore, the XUV400 offers faster DC charging whereas the Kona Electric redeems itself with faster AC home charging. Both electric SUVs offer variable regen modes and drive modes.

It is worth mentioning that the XUV400 is likely to come at an attractive price to undercut the Hyundai Kona Electric. Meanwhile, Hyundai are planning to launch the Kona Electric facelift soon. The Kona Electric facelift was launched in the global markets back in 2020.
