2022 Maruti Suzuki Ertiga Facelift Likely To Launch In April | V3Cars

Maruti Suzuki India is likely to launch the updated Ertiga facelift in April 2022. Apart from some cosmetic changes, the Ertiga facelift will also get a new 6-speed torque converter (TC) automatic transmission from the 2022 S-Cross. The engine and other mechanicals are expected to remain the same as before. The same powertrain will later make its way to other Maruti cars like the XL6, 2022 Brezza and Ciaz.

The Ertiga facelift could get a new grille with a piano black finish. The rest of the front profile will remain largely unchanged. At the rear, the Ertiga facelift will gain the black boot applique which we have seen on the XL6. It could also gain a new design for the alloy wheels, albeit of the same size as before.

On the inside, the 2022 Ertiga could get Suzuki’s new 9.0-inch touchscreen infotainment with advanced telematics. The rest of the cabin will remain the same as before, with generous use of faux wooden inserts and beige upholstery. The Ertiga will continue with the standard 7-seat layout whereas the 6-seat layout will remain exclusive to the XL6.

The 2022 Ertiga will continue with the 1.5L normal petrol engine with mild-hybrid support. It will produce the same 105PS of power and 138Nm of torque, mated with the same 5-speed manual and a new 6-speed TC automatic. We expect the overall fuel efficiency to go up thanks to the new automatic gearbox which will replace the old 4-speed TC unit.

With the new changes and better transmission, we expect Maruti Suzuki to hike the prices of the new Ertiga. The Ertiga will take on the likes of the Kia Carens and Mahindra Marazzo. However, both of its rivals boast a diesel engine whereas the Ertiga will continue with the same petrol engine as before. Bookings for the 2022 Ertiga will commence soon whereas the launch could take place in early April.
