Take a look at the features of the Grand Vitara:
On the powertrain front, the Grand Vitara will come with a choice of 2 engines — a 1.5L mild hybrid petrol engine and a 1.5L strong hybrid petrol engine. The former will also get the option of 4-wheel-drive with terrain modes. The 1.5L normal petrol engine produces 103PS of power and 137Nm of torque at 4400rpm. Transmission options for the mild hybrid petrol engine include a 5-speed manual and a 6-speed torque converter automatic transmission. The 1.5L strong hybrid engine, on the other hand, produces 116PS of power and 122Nm of torque between 4400rpm and 4800rpm. It will be offered with an eCVT transmission.

The Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara will rival other C-segment SUVs like the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Volkswagen Taigun, Skoda Kushaq and MG Astor. It is worth noting that the Grand Vitara and its sibling, the Urban Cruiser Hyryder, are the only 2 SUVs in their class to offer a hybrid powertrain and optional 4-wheel-drive. It remains to be seen whether the Grand Vitara can put a dent on the sales of the Korean siblings.
