After launching the Audi Q3, the carmaker has announced plans to launch the Q3 Sportback in India. Audi India have opened bookings for the Q3 Sportback for a token amount of Rs. 2 lakh. Interested buyers can book the Q3 Sportback either through Audi India’s website or “myAudi connect” app.

The Q3 Sportback offers a coupe roof bodystyle. It looks similar to the Q3 until you move to the side. The Q3 Sportback gets a tapering roofline, which lends it a coupe-like side profile. Furthermore, the Q3 Sportback is offered with the sporty S Line trim over the standard Q3. A few exterior features of the Q3 Sportback include LED headlights with integrated DRLs, split LED tail lights, 18-inch alloy wheels, S Line emblem on the fenders and a panoramic sunroof.

On the inside, the Q3 Sportback offers a similar dashboard layout as the standard Q3. In terms of features, the Q3 Sportback offers a 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system, digital instrument cluster, illuminated scuff plates with S logo, wireless charging, 10-speaker sound system with amplifier, 2-zone climate control, rear seats with fore and aft sliding and electronically-adjustable front seats with 4-way lumbar support.

On the powertrain front, the new Q3 Sportback shares its 2.0L turbo petrol engine with the standard Q3. It produces 190PS of power between 4200rpm and 6000rpm and 320Nm of torque between 1500rpm and 4100rpm. The turbo petrol engine comes with a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission and 4-wheel-drive. It does the 0-100kmph sprint in 7.3 seconds and also offers the option to change engine response with drive select.

Audi are likely to announce the prices of the Q3 Sportback in the coming weeks. At launch, it will not have any direct competitor in the segment. It will sit above the Audi Q3, Mercedes-Benz GLA, Volvo XC40 and BMW X1.
