Citroen C3 Aircross SUV was spotted on test on our roads multiple times and the carmaker continues to test it across varied terrains of the country. A new set of images of the C3 Aircross on test in Sweden recently surfaced online. The new C3 Aircross, which is based on the CMP platform, is likely to replace the current C3 Aircross hatchback in global markets. The C3 Aircross will become the carmaker’s fourth product for the Indian market, after the C5 Aircross, C3 hatchback and eC3 electric car.

Citroen will launch 2 new vehicles in India this year — the eC3 electric hatchback and C3 Aircross 7-seater SUV. While the eC3 was revealed recently and its bookings are currently open, Citroen are likely to unveil the C3 Aircross in mid 2023. The C3 Aircross is likely to offer 5- and 7-seater options and rival other C-segment SUVs like the Hyundai Creta, Volkswagen Taigun and Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara.

The C3 Aircross will share its CMP platform with the C3 hatchback and it is likely to boast a longer wheelbase to accommodate a 3rd row of seats. It is also likely to have a longer rear overhang for better cabin and boot space. The spied images reveal a similar exterior design to the C3 hatchback. Up front, it will get Citroen’s twin chevron logo along with LED DRLs and split headlights. The C3 Aircross could also feature LED headlights and LED turn indicators. Unlike the C3, the top variants of the C3 Aircross are likely to offer features like dual-tone alloy wheels, rear wiper with washer and a shark fin antenna.

A few spy shots also give us a sneak peek into the interior of the new C3 Aircross. The cabin of the C3 Aircross is likely to be similar to that of the C3 hatchback. The centre of the dashboard could boast a 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. Other features could include automatic climate control, electronically-adjustable outside rear view mirrors, digital instrument cluster and auto-dimming inside rear view mirror.

In terms of powertrains, the C3 Aircross is likely to come with the 1.2L turbo petrol engine that powers the C3 hatchback. In the C3, this engine offers 110PS of power at 5500rpm and 190Nm of torque at 1750rpm. Currently, this engine only comes with a 6-speed manual transmission. However, an automatic transmission option is also in the works. Furthermore, Citroen could also offer an all-electric version of the C3 Aircross in the market like the eC3.
