MG Motor India have officially revealed the Comet EV ahead of its launch later this month. The upcoming Comet EV will be the brand’s most affordable vehicle in the country.

MG recently revealed the Comet EV in Gurugram. While the carmaker is yet to reveal the battery and motor specifications of the Comet EV, the images released by MG as part of the press kit reveal the unique exterior paint options of the upcoming compact electric vehicle.

MG have taken inspiration from graffiti art and have offered unique colour options with the Comet EV. Apart from the conventional single- and dual-tone exterior colour options, MG will also offer unique sticker styles painted on the Comet EV. The leaked brochure reveals a total of 7 sticker styles — Youth, Night Cafe, Day of Dead, Space, Blossom, Floresta and Space. MG are likely to offer other subtle colour options as well, such as white, grey, black and neon green.

According to the leaked brochure, the Comet EV will offer a 17.3kWh battery pack. The electric motor of the Comet EV will offer 42PS of power and 110Nm of torque. The Comet EV will offer a claimed driving range of 230km on a single charge. In terms of charging, the Comet EV will take 7 hours to charge from 0-100% and 5 hours to charge from 10-80% via a 3.3kW AC charger.

MG are likely to open bookings for the new Comet EV soon while its launch could take place in late April. The new Comet EV is likely to undercut other affordable electric vehicles in the market, such as the Tata Tiago EV, Tata Tigor EV and Citroen eC3. So we could expect MG to price the Comet EV between Rs. 7 lakh - Rs. 8 lakh (ex-showroom).
