The Hyundai  Verna 2023 sedan is finally on sale in India with prices starting from Rs. 10.90 lakh (ex-showroom). In this article, we share the fuel efficiency figures for the Verna normal petrol manual and continuously variable transmission (CVT) and turbo petrol manual and dual clutch automatic transmission (DCT).

Surprisingly, the more powerful 1.5L turbo petrol engine of the 2023 Verna is more fuel efficient than the normal petrol engine. The 1.5L turbo petrol engine with the DCT offers an ARAI-certified fuel efficiency of 20.60kmpl whereas the manual transmission offers 20kmpl. These figures are marginally better than the 1.5L normal petrol manual and CVT, which offer 18.60kmpl and 19.60kmpl, respectively.

Hyundai offer the new 2023 Verna in 4 variants — EX, S, SX and SX(O). The 1.5L normal petrol engine with the 6-speed manual transmission comes in all the 4 variants whereas the CVT is only available in SX and SX(O) variants. The 1.5L turbo petrol engine is only offered with SX and SX(O) variants with 2 transmission options – a 6-speed manual and 7-speed dual clutch automatic transmission options.
