Hyundai have finally launched the Verna 2023 in India and its prices start from Rs. 10.90 lakh (ex-showroom). The new Verna is now the most-powerful sedan in its class and also delivers the best fuel efficiency among its turbo petrol rivals.

The new Verna 2023 comes with 2 engine options — 1.5L normal petrol and 1.5L turbo petrol. The 1.5L turbo petrol engine produces 160PS of power and 253Nm of torque. Its power and torque outputs are higher than that of the Skoda Slavia and Volkswagen Virtus.

Take a look at the performance figures of the new Verna against its arch rivals:
The Verna turbo petrol offers 10PS more power and 3Nm more torque than the 1.5L turbo petrol engine that powers the Skoda Slavia and Volkswagen Virtus. Furthermore, it matches the torque output of the City hybrid and takes the second spot in terms of fuel efficiency. The new Verna turbo petrol is the most fuel efficient among all its rivals, save for the Honda City hybrid, which uses a strong hybrid powertrain.

The new Verna turbo petrol offers 20.60kmpl with its DCT transmission, which is 2.19kmpl more than the claimed fuel efficiency of the Virtus and Slavia 1.5L DCT. The Verna turbo petrol is even more fuel efficient than the Maruti Suzuki Ciaz automatic, which uses a normal petrol engine and a 4-speed torque converter automatic transmission.

Hence, it is safe to say that if you want the perfect combination of performance and efficiency, the 2023 Verna is currently the best buy in the C2-segment sedan space. We will soon drive the 2023 Verna and share our first impressions of the newest sedan in the country.
