Kia Carens To Get 1.5L Turbo Petrol Engine

The current Kia Carens offers a 1.4L turbo petrol engine with its top variants. The same engine also powers the top spec variants of the Kia Seltos. Hyundai have already removed the 1.4L turbo petrol engine from the updated Creta lineup. We expect Kia to follow suit and remove the 1.4L turbo petrol engine from the Carens and Seltos lineup.

The new 1.5L turbo petrol engine will make its debut with the 2023 Hyundai Verna. Furthermore, Hyundai also announced the new 1.5L turbo petrol engine for the 2023 Alcazar 3-row family SUV. The 1.5L turbo petrol engine produces 160PS of power at 5500rpm and 253Nm of torque between 1500rpm and 3500rpm. This engine comes with 2 transmission options – a 6-speed manual transmission and a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission.

We expect the Carens to feature the 1.5L turbo petrol engine in the same state of tune as the Hyundai cars. Even the 2 transmission options mentioned above are likely to be offered with the 2023. Furthermore, the Carens will also offer a 1.5L normal petrol engine and a 1.5L turbo diesel engine.
