The Mercedes-Benz GLS has received its mid-lifecycle update and it now looks more imposing than ever before. The new GLS facelift gets a few design changes along with new features and electrified powertrains. The updated GLS SUV is likely to launch in India soon.
2023 Mercedes-Benz GLS Facelift —- Exterior Changes
The updated GLS facelift gets an updated front fascia — featuring a larger grille with 4 horizontal bars finished in gloss black. The air vents lower down in the bumper also receive a gloss black surround. The LED headlights now boast a new LED DRL pattern, lending the GLS a sharper and more aggressive look. Around the side, the new GLS gets a new design for the alloy wheels while the rear gets a new set of LED tail lights with a 3-pot LED pattern.

2023 Mercedes-Benz GLS Facelift — Interior And Features
While the new GLS facelift retains the dashboard design from the previous version, it gets a few new features that enhance cabin experience. To start with, it now gets a new 3-spoke steering wheel with capacitive steering-mounted controls. Furthermore, the infotainment system and instrument cluster are now based on the latest MBUX operating software and include new display modes as well.
In terms of features, the GLS facelift offers a panoramic sunroof, heated and ventilated front seats, Burmester sound system, 360-degree parking camera, adaptive air suspension, adaptive LED lighting and a powered tailgate.

2023 Mercedes-Benz GLS Facelift — Powertrain Details
The new GLS facelift now combines a 48V mild hybrid system with all the powertrains. The mild hybrid system assists the engine with 22PS of power and 250Nm of torque for short durations. The GLS facelift continues to offer a 3.0L turbo petrol, a 3.0L turbo diesel and a 4.0L turbo petrol engine. The top-spec GLS 600 4 Matic produces 557PS of power at 6500rpm and 730Nm of torque between 2500rpm and 5000rpm.
2023 Mercedes-Benz GLS Facelift — Launch Details
The new GLS facelift will go on sale in Europe later this year. Mercedes-Benz India plan to launch 10 new models in India this year and the new GLS facelift could be one of them.
