Mercedes-Benz Reopen Bookings For G63, Maybach GLS 600 SUVs | V3Cars

Mercedes-Benz India have reopened bookings for 3 of its top-end vehicles after the company received limited additional production. The higher allocation should significantly reduce the waiting period for Mercedes-Benz India’s top-end models that are imported into India via the completely built unit (CBU) route. The bookings will be exclusively open for existing Mercedes-Benz customers for the first week before other interested buyers.

Mercedes-AMG G63, Maybach GLS 600 Powertrain Details

The Mercedes-Benz G63 is a D1 segment luxury SUV, which is priced at Rs. 2.55 crore (ex-showroom). It is powered by a 4.0-litre turbo petrol engine with a 9-speed torque converter automatic transmission and produces 593PS of power at 6000rpm and 850Nm of peak torque between 2500 - 3500rpm.

The Maybach GLS 600 is a D2-segment luxury SUV, which is priced at Rs. 2.88 crore (ex-showroom). It is powered by a 4.0-litre turbo petrol engine with a 9-speed torque converter automatic transmission and produces 557PS of power at 6000rpm and 730Nm of peak torque between 2500 - 4500rpm.

India A Significant Market For Mercedes-Benz

The priority allocation for our market highlights the significance of the Indian market in Mercedes-Benz’ growth strategy. India is currently Mercedes-Benz’ fastest-growing market globally, with a YoY growth of 41%. 

With a 69% YoY growth, the top-end luxury vehicle segment, or TEV as Mercedes-Benz likes to call it, was the highest growing segment for the carmaker in 2022. The TEV segment remains a strong focus area for the company in CY 2023, with more than half of the upcoming launches in 2023 planned within this segment. Mercedes-Benz India’s TEV segment offerings include the likes of the AMG E 53 cabriolet, AMG G 63, GLS Maybach, S-Class, S-Class Maybach, and the EQS luxury EV.
