2023 Mercedes T-Class MPV Revealed | V3Cars

Mercedes-Benz have taken the wraps off their new T-Class lifestyle MPV. The T-Class extends the German marque’s portfolio to families and active tourers. The T-Class sits below the V-Class and is currently available with a 5-seater configuration only. The 7-seater T-Class, which will feature a longer wheelbase, will follow later.

The T-Class is an all-new model in the Mercedes-Benz portfolio and draws multiple design cues from the range. Up front, it gets a chrome-finished tri-slat grille with the tristar logo in the middle. Flanking the grille are swept-back LED headlights sitting at a decent height, lending the T-Class a curvy stance. Like most vans in the market, the T-Class gets sliding rear doors on either side and a tall roof to accommodate passengers and their belongings.

2023 T-Class

The T-Class looks fairly modern and up-to-date on the outside, but the same can’t be said for its interiors. At the centre of the dashboard, you’ll find a small and rather outdated 7.0-inch touchscreen infotainment which gets both Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. While the flagship Mercedes-Benz cars get the Hyperscreen, the T-Class does away with a 5.5-inch TFT display flanked by conventional dials. Other standard features of the T-Class include a height-adjustable driver seat, multi-function steering wheel, keyless start, passive entry and air conditioning.

The 1.3L turbo petrol also comes with 2 states tune – 102PS and 131PS with a torque output of 200Nm and 240Nm respectively. All engine options come with a standard 6-speed manual transmission whereas both the diesel engines and the more-powerful turbo petrol can be had with a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission as well.

2023 T-Class

The 2023 Mercedes-Benz T-Class is positioned as the entry-level family van in Mercedes’ portfolio whereas the bigger V-Class, with its swanky trims, caters to customers seeking a luxurious experience. We do not expect Mercedes-Benz India to bring the T-Class to our market. Closer to home, Mercedes-Benz India are all set to announce the 2023 C-Class on May 10. Stay tuned for all the updates.
