2023 Range Rover Sport Revealed | V3Cars

Land Rover have taken the wraps off the 3rd generation Range Rover Sport. The latest Range Rover Sport takes design cues from the 2023 Range Rover and gets more efficient mild-hybrid and plug-in hybrid powertrains. A fully-electric Range Rover Sport will join the tribe in 2024.

The 2023 Range Rover Sport features a sleeker design than before, falling in line with the latest and greatest Range Rover. Up front, the Range Rover Sport gets a sleeker interpretation of the Range Rover grille and thinner LED headlights. At the side, the Range Rover Sport gets flush-fitting door handles, helping it achieve an impressive drag coefficient of 0.29. At the rear, the Range Rover Sport now gets sleeker LED taillights and a black tailgate applique with the Range Rover lettering at the centre.

Like the exteriors, the 2023 Range Rover Sport borrows its tech and dashboard layout from the new Range Rover. At the centre of the dashboard is a new 13.1-inch curved instrument cluster with a Pivi Pro interface. It supports various connected apps along with Alexa support. In addition to that, it offers wireless Android Auto, Apple CarPlay and a 29-speaker Meridian sound system. Other features in the new Range Rover Sport include a 13.7-inch digital instrument cluster, active noise cancellation, adaptive off-road cruise control and cabin air purification.

As we stated earlier, the 2023 Range Rover Sport comes with multiple mild-hybrid and plug-in hybrid powertrains. Speaking of the mild-hybrid engines, the 2023 Range Rover Sport comes with a 3.0L inline-6 turbo petrol engine with 360PS and 400PS output options and a 3.0L inline-6 turbo diesel with 250PS, 300PS and 350PS output options. The new plug-in hybrid option makes use of the 3.0L inline-6 turbo petrol engine, 142PS electric motor and a 38.2kWh battery pack. The combined power output stands at 510PS and it has a claimed electric-only range of 100km. The flagship Range Rover Sport comes with a 4.4L twin-turbo V8, pumping out 530PS and it does 0-100kmph in 4.5 seconds.

Range Rover Sport

Land Rover India are likely to launch the 2023 Range Rover Sport later this year. It will go up against the likes of the BMW X5, Mercedes-Benz GLE, Volvo XC90 and Audi Q7. Recently, Audi India launched the Q7 facelift as a CKD unit. On the other hand, the Range Rover Sport is likely to hit our shores via the CBU route.
