Top Reasons That Make 2022 C-Class The Baby S-Class | V3Cars

Mercedes-Benz India are gearing up to launch the 2022 C-Class on May 10. Now in its 5th generation, the 2022 C-Class offers a sleeker design with larger proportions and a tech-savvy cabin. Here, we tell you the top reasons why the 2022 C-Class is worthy of the ‘Baby S-Class’ tag.

2022 C-Class

Short Overhangs And New-age Design

While the E-Class is yet to receive its generation change, it’s the smaller C-Class which falls in line with the flagship S-Class sedan. Its sleeker LED headlights and horizontally stacked LED tail lights are similar to that of the S-Class. The stance, accompanied by the short overhangs, makes it look like a baby S-Class in the truest sense. In addition to that, the C-Class has grown in every dimension, save for the height, while maintaining its predecessor’s drag coefficient of 0.24d.

New Interior Layout And Design Elements

The 2022 C-Class gets an all-new dashboard design which is very similar to the new S-Class. While the layout is similar, the aluminium-finished trim on the lower part of the dashboard has been carried over from the S-Class, lending the C-Class a uber-premium appeal. Out of the 25mm extra wheelbase, 21mm can be felt in the rear seat space, which is better than the predecessor.

MBUX Infotaiment System

The 2022 C-Class gets the latest MBUX infotainment system ahead of the E-Class and even the GLS. The vertically-stacked 11.9-inch infotainment system gets Android Auto, Apple CarPlay and biometric scanner. It can save multiple user profiles and alter driving preferences as per the user’s choices. In addition to that, the MBUX infotainment also supports Mercedes Me telematics, 3D maps and virtual assistant. The 2022 C-Class also gets a free-standing instrument cluster for the driver, with various themes for the display.

Efficient Powertrains With Mild-hybrid

All engine options of the 2022 C-Class come with mild-hybrid technology. The 2022 C-Class is the first Mercedes-Benz to feature mild-hybrid tech with a diesel engine. This makes it the most fuel efficient Mercedes-Benz on sale currently. Its 2.0L turbo diesel engine with 200PS of power and 440Nm of torque offers a fuel efficiency of 23kmpl.
