Tata Motors are all set to launch the 2023 Nexon EV tomorrow. The carmaker started accepting bookings for the new electric SUV on September 9, 2023 for a token amount of Rs. 21,000. Read on to know more about the 2023 Tata Nexon EV.

The new Nexon EV offers a fresh design inside and out, giving it an enhanced appeal over the outgoing model. The new Nexon now offers split LED headlights, bringing it closer to the rest of Tata’s SUVs. Another design element that stands it apart from the ICE Nexon is the connected LED DRL strip at the front. Other design elements include LED fog lights, new 16-inch machined alloy wheels, connected LED tail lights, and a neatly-concealed rear wiper underneath the extended rear roof spoiler.

On the inside too, the new Nexon looks fresh thanks to a new dashboard design. The Nexon is currently the only SUV in its class to offer soft-touch finish on the dashboard. It also offers a new 2-spoke steering wheel design, which also incorporates the illuminated Tata logo. Depending on the variant you choose, Tata Motors also offer various interior themes featuring different colours for the dashboard and seat upholstery. Over the Nexon, the Nexon EV also offers a larger touchscreen infotainment system, measuring 12.3-inch in size.

The new Nexon EV retains the 2 battery pack options as before — Medium Range (MR) with a 30kWh battery and Long Range (LR) with a 40.5kWh battery pack. The medium range offers 129PS of power, 215Nm of torque and an ARAI-certified range of 325km. The Long Range offers 145PS of power, 215Nm of torque and 465km certified range.
Both the battery pack options power a front mounted electric motor, which as per Tata Motors, is lighter by 20kg and more efficient. Tata Motors claim that while the claimed range of the new Nexon has increased by 5%, the real world range is up by 7%. In terms of charging, the Nexon EV can be charged from 10 - 80% in 56 minutes via a DC fast charger.

The new Nexon EV, like the regular Nexon, adopts the new variant nomenclature. Tata will offer the Nexon EV in 3 variants — Empowered, Fearless and Creative. The new Nexon EV will continue to rival other EVs like the Mahindra XUV400, Hyundai Kona EV and MG ZS EV.
