Tata Punch EV Exterior Details

The test car was wrapped in camouflage and we suspect it is hiding a revised front fascia featuring new design for the LED DRLs and headlights. Furthermore, the images revealed the new design for the 5-spoke alloy wheels, which could measure 16-inch in size like the ICE counterpart. The Punch EV will also offer rear disc brakes over its ICE counterpart.

Tata Punch EV Interior Changes

On the inside, the spy shots reveal the presence of Tata’s new 2-spoke steering wheel, which could also feature an illuminated Tata logo. The new steering wheel will make its debut in the Nexon and later trickle down to the rest of the range. Furthermore, the Punch EV will also offer a 360-degree parking camera and to project that feed in a presentable layout, it could get Tata’s new 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system.

Speaking of other features, the Punch EV could get a the illuminated rotary gear knob from the Nexon EV Max. Since the Punch EV test mule features  all 4 disc brakes, we can expect the production version of the electric SUV to offer an electric parking brake.

Tata Punch EV Expected Powertrain Details

Since the Tata Punch EV will sit below the Nexon EV Prime, we expect it to share its powertrain with the Tigor EV, albeit with a slightly larger battery pack. The Tigor EV comes with a 26kWh battery pack whereas the Nexon EV Prime packs a 30.2kWh battery. Even if we assume that the Punch EV will come with a 28kWh battery pack, it will sit very close to the Nexon EV Prime. Hence, there could be a possibility that Tata discontinue the Nexon EV Prime and leave the Max variants as the torch bearer for the Nexon EV range. This will give the Punch EV a larger area to play around and garner better sales for the carmaker.

Tata Punch EV Launch Details And Rivals

Tata Motors could launch the Punch EV towards the end of 2023. It will go up against the likes of the Citroen eC3, which is the electric counterpart of the Citroen C3. The prices of the Tata Punch EV could start from Rs. 10 lakh and go up to Rs. 14 lakh ex-showroom.
